EVENT DETAILS
VT Coverts Cooperators Ann & Rich Chalmers invite you to their property to explore a unique group of vernal pools. Leading the workshop will be Allaire Diamond and Caitlin Cusack with the VT Land Trust along with Liza Morse and Steve Faccio, with the VT Center for Ecostudies. Learn all about vernal pools, why they are important and how to protect them. Discover the life cycles of amphibians and invertebrates that live or breed in vernal pools and how to identify them. Find out about the Vermont Center for Ecostudies Vernal Pool Monitoring Project and how to get involved.

Be prepared to hike 1 mile on trails through hilly terrain. Water-proof footwear is recommended. A headlamp or flashlight is suggested for anyone who might want to stay outside long enough to hear wood frogs, peepers, and woodcocks. Attendance is limited to 20 people. Parking is limited, please carpool if possible.
